First gay divorce

People get divorced all the time. I don't think it gay people would get divorced any more than straight people.

Well, it was bound to happen, why is this newsworthy?

If anything this shows that they are just like everyone else.

Bah, everyone knows marriage is a sacred, god given, jesus approved, holy contract. Divorce is a satanic, civil proceeding....

LMAO

What about the millions of straights getting divorced every day?

I think I am going to pencil in my vote this year...both candidates are idiots.

You can't ruin the sanctity of marriage if you don't respect it in the first place.

Unfortunantly for those who are whackos the rules have been lightened, it is perfectly possible to divorce someone today thank god.

There never was any sanctity of marriage, not for hundreds of years, just "what will the neighbours think" or "it is against our religion" so the empty loveless marriages which were "sacred" continued.

Progression has been made and now we don't have the same needs as even women can work and support themselves (oh the horror!) and us men have to make a real effort to keep our women if we want them.

I sincerely like these times a lot better.

It's impossible to ruin something that has already been destroyed. Blame Las Vegas, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez. Getting married nowadays is less sanctified (and usually less eternal) than getting a tattoo.

Well, I don't think it was ever sacred, but many people born before the 1940's thought/think it was and treated it as such. I mean, most Catholics thought it was really sacred. Now it's treated like anything else.

That's being very general. What about all the divorces today that happen because people just refuse to work through difficult times together? My problem with today is that people are so set on looking at marriage as disposeable that at the sign of the first problem they seperate. Nothing good comes easy, and it takes work to make any relationship work. I dislike seeing people divorcing because they don't want to put out that effort.

Rumor had it that this was a way to force full rights.

Gays had the right to marry but not the right to divorce accordig to the way the law was written.
