I just started a job with a major player in the tech industry and am surrounded by talent poached from Google and some of the leading media companies around the world. Because they hired me to be part of the team, I'm excited because it means they think I bring something to the table.

Since this is your first job, you're going to feel a bit overwhelmed. This is called getting your hymen broke. Hopefully, after you've invested some time in your career, you'll get an opportunity like me and no longer feel like the new kid with a lot to learn but an vital asset to something big.

It's just like a small college engineering class. The top 3 in the class are usually scarily smart, while there are always the bottom 5 that have little clue what they are doing and failing, and then the rest would be happy to just passing the class. Same thing in the work place, there are a few extremely smart guys who you can never measure up to, and then there are a bunch of guys who never gets it no matter how long they have been in their job. No need to panic, you have your place in the company as long as you do your job.

The best job I ever had was working with a bunch of smart people, you can learn a lot. I also found out that when you first start a new job, everyone seems smart until later on when you find out:
- Some of them just talks a lot but don't know much
- Some are smart but just don't apply it or have common sense
- Then there are the real smart ones, pick them out and learn from them
