Yes!!
The guys at xbit do a good job of reviewing items!!

Let me point out that the CNPS9500 in my opinion was never meant to be better than a major water cooling rig!!

All the hype was aimed towards the cheap {define cheap--I know..lol}out of the box water cooling rigs that were only marginally better than a good solid multi fan cooling set up!!

I will admit though I am a Zalman fan all the way!!
Every piece I have in my computer is a work of art!!

So like alot of other people I am waiting patiently for the new CPU cooler to make its debut.

How well do you think that this cooler would do agains an XP-90? I'm trying to see if it would be a big enough difference to warrant the cost of upgrading.

Why ask us for uninformed guesses? When nobody has the answers?
becuase there are NOT that many accurate reviews out yet!

Wait until it comes out and there are tons of reviews then you can make your own informed decision; instead of asking us for uninformed opinions!!

Jeez. Calm down. He was just asking for rough guesses - see bold.

My hypothetical guess?
7700AlCu < XP90. But not by that much.
9500 >>> 7700AlCu, by a lot.
9500 > XP90.

I feel that the 9500 might be better than the XP90, based on my interpretations of the results. You may feel differently.

Now regarding this:
I'm trying to see if it would be a big enough difference to warrant the cost of upgrading.

My opinion? I don't think so. You have a ~$35 heatsink and you want to spend $45 more for an ~$80 heatsink?Unless you're a crazy, extreme overclocker I persoannally feel that the XP90 is more than enough. God, XP90 is enough to take a 3000+ Venice from 1.8 to 2.7 - that's plenty.

Agreed. The XP-90 is still a great HSF.

I wonder how it would fare vs. a Scythe Ninja.

I don't think Scythe is given enough credit just because they are not as huge as Zalman, Thermalright, etc. But the Ninja has gotten nothing but good reviews.

Repost....

but anyways one question: I would be buying a new computer soon (X2 3800+) and i was wondering if it's worth it to spend a little more for the CNPS9500 instead of the XP-90. Would there be a difference when I overclock it?

I wonder how this would compare to an XP 120, I'm debating getting an xp 90 cause they are so cheap atm. but I havent decided yet. if this can be had for around $60 I think I'd jump but @ 80 its to much unless it can out do an xp120

Where!!!

Just read this review of the Gigabyte 3D Galaxy watercooling kit cooler at TweakTown, and it aint bad, aint bad at all! For the CNPS9500 to outperform it is no mean feat.
