I've had a 19" monitor for about 3 years now, and just bought a 22" widescreen. Rather than throw out the 19" wastefully, I figured I'd have a go at running more than one monitor. Thus far I've come accross two problems I can't seem to solve:
1. I CANNOT match image/display characteristics between the two monitors.
I'm sure with having a newer screen with better contrast mechanisms, and a fluorescent backlight that hasn't lost any resilience due to time this should be expected. However, I can't seem to get the color balance very even between the two. I used media center's display configuration videos/tutorials to set the widescreen to settings I'm very pleased with. However, I only achieved such good settings by using both the monitor's adjustments, as well as nvidia's control panel. The control panel settings make a baseline, however, that the older 19" monitor's adjustments can't work off of to get the same good levels/balance/settings on par with the 22".
2. I haven't found a way to remedy situations where the mouse cursor gets 'caged' or stuck on one screen.
I have dual tv tuners in my desktop, and was quite looking forward to leaving the tv (standard university-provided CATV) displayed through media center on the 19" (most of the channels are 4:3, and it's all analog anyway) while using the 22" to surf the net or do school work. I like maximizing media center and letting the frames fade away, so the display is filled entirely with the tv stream. However, when I maximize media center on the 19", the mouse cannot traverse back over to the 22".
Help, please?
