link :)

I'll be honest, I don't really care about this car, but I did want to know about the engine. It sounds like it will be a great replacement for the old v6 :)

I'd care more about the engine if it managed to find its way into a Fusion SVT :)

When pressed to reveal more about future variants on the 3.5-liter, Ford engineer McCarthy told us to expect versions featuring direct-injection, turbocharging and hybrid technologies in displacements ranging from 3.0 to 4.0 liters. He also acknowledged that the engine could easily be adapted to a rear-wheel-drive configuration.
Sweet

that engine looks like it can make gobs more power with some techno add-ons and a 91-octane computer program.

Yeah, because nothing says awesome like paying 8-10k more for a car that gets 5-10% better mileage. Yet a 100+ year old technology (diesel) can get 30-40% better mileage and only cost slightly more.

Back to the point though, ElFenix, I think that's what the engineer was getting to with the "yeah, we didn't include any of the following." It will be awesome to see what engineers start to get out of it.

Hybrids are hardly the Godsend you make them out to be...

Smaller cars and diesels, however, might be...

diesel > hybrid

cars only account for 20% of CO2 emissions. coal power plants generate 50% of the electricity produced in the US, and yet they throw more radioactive particles into the air than a nuclear reactor.

clean heavy industry and get rid of coal plants. then you'll make a REAL difference. the gap in the ozone layer is closing, but it sure isn't due to the slow adoption of hybrid technologies. it's the industry cleaning up - car manufacturer's just get all the attention because of the foolish media and an even less intelligent general public.
