Looks like they rented that front end treatment from BMW.

While we were limited to sub-25-mph speeds, Pontiac's little beauty still managed to raise our heartbeats both in terms of how it integrated us into the driving experience and in the stirring curves of its sheet metal.

Seriously, how can you even CLAIM to write a review based on that?

I'm a bit disappointed. I saw the prototype of that car at the NY Auto Show, and it looked like it had potential! The spokesmodel was cute, too! :)

I am not gonna say anything about the grill but ... as a person that advocates design trends (I usually tell people to stfu when they claim a manufacturer stole some other manufacturer's design), this car wins the "Best of Thievery" award. Is there anything that Pontiac designed or their design alliant designed themselves?

That is really heavy for this type of car. I'm not sure I like it.

right on par with an S2000 if I remember correctly, is the S2000 too porky too? :p

well the S2k has a 2 liter that pumps out 240 horses and redlines at 8000rpm... not exactly any comparision at all...

but i wonder how well it'll handle. after all speed is never the issue in small convertibles. i doubt it'll handle better than the S2K or the miata tho...

Damm looks nice, now they just need to put the damm supercharger back on.

$19,995K base, so add another $4k? for a top of the line supercharged version and that is a steal.

Correct, they're both porky. :)

Yep. Lose the AC, radio, etc and cut that thing down to 2000lbs and I will be a happy camper :p

Lose all that in the Miata and Miata will go 0-60 in <6 seconds.

Hell, even the Porsche/VW 914, which was a paragon of lightness, weighed in at something like 1950 pounds for the lightest model. Later models came in at up to 2400 pounds.

I've been watching this car for a while (as well as its Kappa Platform brothers), and it seems to be a very solid car. But the problem is, if you're looking for a Roadster, you can already find S2k's under 20k used.

The Solstice is probally a better daily driver (more torque downlow), but the S2K is probally a better track car.

Both are around 2850 lbs.... the Supercharged Solstice should match the S2k's output of 240hp.

I'd have to wait for more info before I choose anything over my dream (see sig ;)).

Plus, there are big payoffs in handling, braking, fuel economy, longevity, etc as well.

Getting cars lighter isn't cheap, but the benefits are great.

On a side note, the first Lotus Elise was delivered today (19xx lbs). :)
