and the automatic top still opens and closes in just 12 seconds.
Is that some kind of a record? I could've sworn that even MB's SLK does it in like 30.

What a sweet car tho, I'd love one :D

nice car... i was thrown off by this sentence though:

A Bose digital audio system is a new option, as well, finally giving the Boxster an audio system worth paying for.
do what? a bose system worth paying for? hasn't happened in decades.

Who told you that??? My ICQ name is Boxster. My name on all of the other discussion boards around the web is Boxster S. My favorite car is the Boxster. My favorite concept car is the 1993 Boxster Concept.

You must have me confused with someone else :D

Are you talking about its standard soft top or the hardtop? I think the Boxster looks great with it's regular soft top, but looks like ass with the hardtop on.

One thing I really hate about the Boxster: Single exhaust outlet in the center. Looks like an...well, arsehole. :disgust:

Get rid of that and bump the horsepower to at least 275 and maybe I'll consider it.

i was talking about the hardtop. i agree with you on the softop, it actually looks good. I think almost all convertibles look like hell with a hardtop.

The single exhaust tip comes from the 550 Spyder of the 50's.

Giving the Boxster any more HP would make it compete with the 911 and that's a NO NO

If it weren't for the Boxster, Porsche might not have been here today. And the Boxster is by no means the 911's bitch.

Just give 911 more HP. :D GM does this all the time with Corvette/Camaro.

And looked at what happened to the poorly built, cramped Camaro...it got canned. Just couldn't compete with the Mustang's continued refinement and sales.

As for bumping horsepower, the base Boxster has gone from 200 HP to 228 HP. And the 911 has gone from 296 to 320.

From the Article:
Other roadsters may boast more power under the hood but few display the near perfect balance that makes the Boxster such a thoroughly enjoyable partner when the road turns twisty.
The son of 914 has proven itself worthy. The only thing the Boxster is missing is the sound of the old air-cooled sixes. :)

Son of 914?? HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO. Don't even mention the two in the same sentence. The Boxster was inspired from the 550 Spyder right down to its sculpted flanks and single exaust pipe.

Very true...I'm surprised some of the other high end sports car manufacturers haven't followed suit with a more "budget" model like the boxster. But on the track the boxster is the 911's bitch :)
