Well, I'm an avid 35mm and large format photographer, and even had a darkroom in my old house; but when I paid freaking $27 to get some reprints for my friend, I decided that film is starting to piss me off.

I want an SLR, but the 10d is a little out of my price range right now, so I settled on a sleek little point and shoot Canon SD110. I bought a 256 card from newegg, so hopefully both will be arriving soon. From what I've read, this camera is pretty hot - plus I only paid 230 for it new. Anyone have this model as well, and were you happy with it?

256mg sd card was dirt cheap, about $25 after rebates. hope you got a deal on that. sd110 is cheap too. I guess you should get an A80 instead.

I agree with that. Being a photographer, it looks like you know what you're doing. The a80's controls probably would have suited you better, aside from the difference in size.

I just remember now sd110 is not a good choice for you as a photographer. that thing has no full manual. really, A7x or A80 fit you better. btw, check out the macro mode, it is fun 😉

hey I have an A70 ... any tips on how to take macro shots? Problem with mine is that they're really blurry and I dont' know if the flash should be on or not.

Yeah, the reason I went with the 110 was the size. I still plan to use the SLR for any serious shots, but candids and night on the town pics will be ideal for this camera. The fact that I can fit it in my pocket was the selling point - not to mention I am brand loyal to canon.

hrmm.. maybe it's time to sell my s400... and get the sd110.....

oh.. it's hard to use these after using the rebel... lagfree shooting... soooo nice 🙂

How did you get it for 230 from newegg? I've been following the price of this camera for a couple of weeks now and its still about $250 shipped.

I'm waiting for my Canon A300 to get here today! Hopefully I'll be able to get it all up and running to post some pics later. 🙂

why not get the sd10 instead? I grew to hate the size of sd100 and went with sd10. can't be happier. sd110 is small compare to other camera, but if you want a truly small pocket size one, go with sd10. you won't even fit it in your pocket. there was time I didn't realize it was in my pocket. 😛
2x zoom is pointless and useless. sd10 has 4mp to compensate that and the super marco mode you can't find with other camera. heh

Digital SLR is my next target....only if i have the money 🙁
