First computer build!!!...but sound does not work

i did not get an individual sound card instead i am relying the 8 channel realtek audio device sound that comes with the motherboard software (which i already installed)...please provide any insight that you can!

Make sure the speakers are powered on. Also make sure its plugged into the correct place. Then check the Device manager to see if there are any issues with the sound. Then go into your sound settings and make sure th e volumes are set correctly and nothing is muted.
