Dentist: So is this your first time?
you: yes...but I'm not sure I want to do this...
Dentist: Come on baby, we've been making appointments for 6 months now, don't you like me?
you: well ok, just don't drill me too hard.

Bad teeth run in my family.

I've probably had 10 or 15 cavities in my life.

LOL i don't think that's genetics! Just bad brushing. Use an electric toothbrush.
I believe it is genetic to a certain extent.

I have a brother that has had 10 or 15 like that person. He lives in an area that believe flouride is evil, on the other hand I live in an area where flouride is still added. When I get my teeth cleaned, I insist on a flouride treatment too (they were saying some stuff about for kids only - but I told em I'd find another dentist, and they ponied up the cap of flouride treatment). . .
My dentist still gives me flouride every time without even asking.
