Consider yourself lucky as there is one less POS cobalt on the roads now. Now that you know, buy something that is actually worthy of being driven by a person with a brain.

Damn, OP. Hope you're OK and that the car is fixable.

Right, there are no young people causing accidents by doing stupid moves. Hint: old people have no higher accident rates than young inexperienced drivers.

What was the dude driving 75+?

I don't think any roads in the U.S allow speeds faster than 70 MPH.

Nobody in America drives the speed limit, everyone I know thinks it's their God given right as an American to decide the speed to go which they deem as safe.

Cool story bro.

My car before my 08 GTI was a brand new 2005 Cobalt that was the biggest POS ever created. I would rather have driven a 1st gen civic than that thing again. Chevy eventually gave up trying to diagnose it and just started replacing parts willy nilly until the warranty ran out and I dumped it on some poor fool.

Last year, I got a 2009 Cobalt rental with 120 miles on the clock that felt like it was firing on 3 cylinders. I had the pedal planted on the floor going up a hill on I-80 in nor cal and it was actually slowing down. The steering felt like it had been in a huge accident and no one bothered to replace the steering column.

Before you call me a GM hater, my parents also own a 2002 Tahoe thats been absolutely bulletproof, asides for its utterly retarded washer pump system design.

I am not a traveler. Please tell me about it though.

From what I can remember the 75 mph speed limit states are Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Young people get better, older people only get worse.

Even my grandmother knows this and stopped driving at night, when there is any hint of bad weather, if traffic is heavy, only drives in town, etc... She did this on her own, no one told her to.

We have 70 is some areas...they wanted 75, but our gray hairs booed it.

Utah and Texas go up to 80 in certain parts

Oh, can I do anything to recover any money, I'm in MI and have basic no-fault..

Especially cause he's at fault.

You can recover up to $500 dollars of the repair bill from his insurance company under Michigan law.

I don't understand... did this guy cut you off by swinging over into your lane and then jamming on the brakes? If you were passed by the guy on the left, he was going faster than you, so while still being a douche for cutting in front of you, he shouldn't have rolled his damn car if he kept going the speed he was passing you at.

Edit: Unless you sped up...

The old SUV driver wasn't passing. The SUV pulled out in front from a side road.

Basically, the SUV pulled in front of OP at 2mph while OP was driving at 50mph.

Who goes 50 in a 55?

And who can't swerve out of the way of someone when going 50 in a small car...? He must have REALLY cut you off.
