Here is a system I am planning on building. Will use mainly for gaming (Crysis, GTA IV, Call of Duty 4, etc.) I would appreciate any input. I have done lots of research, but never built rig before. This build comes in at a hair under $1400 at newegg, I have budget of $1600.

Spend a bit more on the case. Something with a little better cooling maybe (and only 120mm+ fans, no 80mm mounts). Antec 300, CM Centurion 590/690, etc

Go ahead and step up to a 1TB drive, if you never use the space it will still be noticably faster than a slow 500gb. Look at Samsun Spinpoint F1, WD Caviar Black

You could step down PSU to the 650w version, you'd still have headroom for crossfire in the future

I second getting a nicer case. You are building a nice system, get a decent case to go with it. Rosewill is a budget manufacturer.

I tend to like Coolermaster and Antec cases. I own a Thermaltake and it is very solid.

Love my Antec Three Hundred. Roomy enough without taking up a huge space like the Nine Hundred, great cooling, not too expensive.

Do yourself a favor - spend some of that extra on a nice keyboard & mouse. Those are the parts you physically use the most - makes a huge impact on perception of a system, I've found.

I used to sell cheapo keyboard/mouse with systems I built for people, switched once when I got a near steal on a Microsoft combo - the guy was so impressed with that single factor he told like 6-8 other people about his system and over half of them bought systems from me shortly. I always spend a little extra now getting upgraded mouse/keyboard of some kind.
