Hello, I have been around forums for a while, though I have not posted. Planning on my first ever build, hoping to order parts tomorrow. I have most parts picked out. I just wanted to get some advice on my list and make sure I am not making any stupid mistakes.
This computer will mostly be used for gaming. Mainly Battlefield 3 and Diablo 3. Other than that just daily web surfing. Budget is around $1200 though within $100 of that is ok.
My parts list: All prices from newegg.
CPU: i5-2500k - $220
Heatsink: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 - $30
MB: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3 - $135
Video: GTX 470 or 570 ($260 or 350)
HD: Samsung spinpoint F3 1tb - $55
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W - $90
Case:Coolermaster HAF 932 - $140
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - $100
Monitor: ASUS VH238H Black 23" - $190
Do not need keyboard, mouse, speakers, or windows 7.
Total with 570 $1310 or $1220 with 470
This is what I was thinking for my build, would like some input into anything I may be buying wrong or if anything I should be getting instead. I am leaning towards the 470 at the moment since its around my budget. I was wondering if there was anything I could spend a little less on to get the 570 instead and if it is even worth it.
Also I would like to play at 1900x 1080 though I do not know much about monitors and don't know if the one I have picked out is good or not.
