I have a couple of Celeron 2's coming & i need to know ,when I shut down to remove my old C550, should I preset voltage to 1.50 in bios & shut down. Or just shut down & let it auto detect all settings?
It should just detect the 1.5v, but if you intend to overclock it, especially to 850, that almost certainly will not be enough. You'll need between 1.6 and 1.7v, most likely.
I just installed my 533A,
the Soyo 6VCA and the ABIT /// is set to auto(default)
but it set the chip to 1.65volts,ID is a PIII533
should I burn it in at 1.5v or 1.65v?
Only have it set to 66mhz.
thanks
Autodetect is fine, provided you have a BIOS that will recognize the CPU. I was busy moving CPU's between PCs one day and put my PIII-650 in a MB with older BIOS and it came up at 2.0V. Didn't hurt it but was not intentional. Updated the BIOS and detected fine. Lark
Thanks, The temp is reading 23C idle & 33 under load(28 case temp). I heard these run cooler but I'm a little surprised at those numbers.
Good luck with yours, you have more patience than I do.
