First attempt at a panorama picture...

The Coliseum

All I can say is Photostitch software is pretty damn cool. I just load the images and set up the order and bam, a neat little panorama picture. Very seamless except for the sky in one part of the photo is a little darker.

This was with a canon A75 on auto settings. I had to take a quick picture because all of the bums were eying my hardware.

Nice! Next time lock exposure and WB and you won't have a problem with some images being darker than others.

sweet. My first attempt was in college, there was this beautiful rose garden and a gazebo in the dead center. Shame I no longer have that picture.

Any of you successfully do a panorama w/o a tripod? Any tips for this, besides, well, having a steady hand?

mine was done w/o a tripod...
The software does all the stiching and that sort of stuff...you just have to linup the images properly, my camera at least gives you a preview of your "previous" image to linup from

Very cool for your first try. I've always wondered if there's a reasonably easy way to correct that one dark piece in Photoshop.

i use a tripod, if shot during the day you dont need one because you can shoot fast enough to avoid camera hand shake, i use a tripod anyway to keep the horizon level

I used Photostitch which was on the software CD that came with my Canon.
