At least they used faster (.8ns) ram for the card. Thats something anyway. The review is of a factory overclocked version of the card. But still get a general idea of performance increase from regular GTX.

Not bad at all, but if it is set at 800$+ (I didnt bother reading anything, just looked at graphs) its worthless

WOW! the card overclocks like a beast.... what the hell

that heatsink must be very damn good to keep the card at 70C load with all that overclock. if these cards are actually available (not vaporware) and they steadily hit 700/2400 clocks I might pick a couple up. DAMN talk about cherry picking and volt modding jesus.

oh also, its been said that both XFX and EVGA will only release overclocked ultra cards. both companies were not satisfied with the clocks set by nvidia. so expect 650/2260 to be standard (which puts the shaders at 1620 mhz). now what I want to see is if these babies push to 700/2400 steady.

Never realized how much of a monster the 8800GTX was in comparison to the 1950xtx! (been out of the loop since i started gaming mainly on the 360).

Does anyone here really care about a card that they're only making maybe 10 of?

Also, don't the 3Dmark 06 scores seem off? I get ~6,500 on my GTS 320mb on an Opteron at 2.7ghz.

LOL. I get 16k at stock&default in 3dm06 and one overclocked 8800 Ultra gets close to that. Insane. What would 2 of those in SLI do? 19-20k?
Sick, we should see offerings from EVGA and XFX. This card is not vaporware.

Must...... get...... two..... QUICK!!!!!!1111oneone

If the R600 doesn't turn out to be the killer everyone is, I'm selling my GTX and getting one of these babies. Should be completely ready for Crysis. :D

I wonder if the Ultra has the H.264 acceleration improvement from the 8600 series. Or is it just the same old core, albeit cherry-picked.

the 20% increase in performance isn't going to make or break Crysis. The GTX now is full capable of handling it but of course your $$.

True, true. Let's see how R600 turns out, which we should find out pretty soon... if it doesn't get delayed again... :|

What's that supposed to mean?

Appears to overclock pretty well. Would like to see how a $600 626/2000 GTX does compared to it.

it means:
1. u have an opty and not a sweet c2d.
2. 320 mb is not enuf.

It means, your score is right for your hardware. 3DMark06 "luvs" fast CPU's. They are using a 2.93 Core 2 Duo.

What a beast of a card, even moreso if they all overclock to those levels :Q

I really hope this isn't priced stupidly with no widespread availability.

Knowing nV though, i suppose that'd be too good to be true.

Yeah this would be a great card for $550-$600 or so and bumped the GTX down to the $450 range. But I don't see Nvidia doing that.

Yeah and it's barely faster than my setup. Most people get 10,000 or so with a C2D and my graphics card, which is why I even said anything.

3DM06 has become a CPU benchmark.

Its not cherry picked cores i believe but a respin of G80. The 8800 ultra uses A3 revision of the G80 core. I mean, who here with a GTX can hit 720mhz on air cooling and at stock volts?

MAYBE thats why the 640 is slowly dissapearing, the gtx will bump down for the ultra to take its place in the 650 range????
