You can do it that way. Just press and hold the icon in the app drawer, then drag it towards the trash and hold it until you see "Uninstall". :)

The stock Android Launcher does not do this. LauncherPro does, however. Other Launchers and custom ROMS may support it as well, but plain Android doesn't.

I did NOT know that launcer pro did that. Man, learned TWO things today.

Well Launcher Pro is an app in the official Android Market, there's no rooting, ROMing or anything other unofficial modding needed to to do it.

I also consider any app in iOS's app store to be part of the OS's possible functions.

Well you didn't explain that to the people above that an app was required to do this. You just said you could do it like any device out of the box has this capability. If either of them tried it with their stock EVO4G's, they'd be wondering what you were smoking. :D

I used LauncherPro from pretty much day one on my Droid though, so yes I was used to it as well.
