i think that iv'e installed the wrong upgrade to my AGP card !!!!!

Do you mean you upgraded the bios then yes depending on the card.

Depends on the hardware--HP firmware checks to make sure you are using it on the correct product. So if you flash it using Sony firmware, for example, the HP flash utility will not see it as an HP product and it won't flash. DOn't know about your particular vid card.
