firmware for nec2510?

What firmware and/or extra features that i should know about, that will improve the 2510? I probably don't care much for the DVD-R/+R both are good i guess


Does the 2510a have burining capabilities when put in a rig, but with no firmware etc has been applied?i ask this becasue Itunes does not recognize my nec drive? when i put in a cd it doesn't show up on the left column so i can't get to put in my music on my cds?

EDIT:wanted to add that itunes is on a program partition not on C:, but i think this shouldn't be an issue

another question...when uninstalling quicktime it has two options, one which is to uninstall and the other to uninstall completely<-this one asks that it is not recommended due to going deep in windows or something? but i want to move this away from C: and into the programs partition?

i can answer your first question. u don't need to install new firmware when you stick your drive into your rig. you should flash the firmware (a tad dangerous sometimes) only if there's a firmware update out from NEC for your drive. as for the itunes things...as long as your bios and windows are recognizing ur drive, iTunes must be the culprit.
