Firmware Flash Problem

Ok, well here is the story. I was having some trouble reading with my LG GCC-4522B CD-RW/DVD drive. I checked the firmware and found there was a new one available. I located the new firmware (1.08) and verified that it matched my drive. I followed the included instructions and then began the flashing process. However, the firmware installer froze and did not flash the firmware. Instead it killed the drive (i guess that is the phrase being used...no firmware=dead drive i guess). The light on the front does not come on, the tray does not open, My Computer, nor the Bios recognizes it. I tried to reflash it, but since it is not detected, i couldn't. Is there another way to force flash it? Or, should I contact LG and try and get a replacement drive? I would like to try force flashing it first, if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, the drive is a little over 30 days old. I purchased it from newegg.com, but now the producted is warranted through Manufacturere only, hence why i am asking here, before i go there.

I doubt there's any way to force the flash, without it being detected by the BIOS, because it's not being assigned any resources.

BIOS flash programs have command switches which allow you to force flash any file you want to the BIOS, but a BIOS is always at the same address so the program can always find it.

You might have a hard time getting them to replace it, since damage due to bad flashes aren't a defect in the product. It would of course be immoral to give them any other explanations for it being dead.
