Firms with Bush ties snag Katrina deals

I think the problem is the fact that the same companies get contract after contract and that the same companies have very close ties to Bush and the admininstration. Too coincidental for my liking. Bush has been using his political position to ensure certain companies are awarded contracts AND THAT IS A definite conflict of interest.

Also...it should be mentioned that corporations like Bechtel or B&R are on a very short list of massive engineering/construction firms who can handle something like this.

You guys know what the real problem here is? Not that some politician is making a little money here, not that there's some corrupt system thats cheating out america, but that this wasn't posted someplace important where this matter could be discussed by all sides of the political spectrum. someplace where everyone would take others views into consideration and think about them...someplace like here

so? if they get the job done, then whats the big deal?

the same is true with every administration. they award their friends.

also, if another company offered the same services for significantly less and Bush and company still chose their friends, then complain. otherwise, so what?
How do you think no-bid contracts work?

The same way they did under the Clinton administration?
