Firingsquad Core 2 Benchmark

As we already knew...

very small game benefits (basically only difference is with high end SLI/CF systems)
huge benefits in everything else

That about right (i just skimmed thru it 😛) ?

been talking about it in other threads...

First round of gaming test prove what HardOCP showed...HIgh res gaming on one card solution shows gpu limitation and no big leads for Core 2 Duo

Xfire test show that even limitation exist in some 1600x1200 test and rears it ugly head again with 2000 res settings...

Other then 3dmark test, and aquamark it appears that C2D is not the big easy for High end gaming...Even while ocing can be a big reason it appears even huge OCs may gain very little in those same gpu limited rez's.....

Conroe wins cause it kicks arse across the board...PPL who game and do other things cannot overlook a very well balanced cpu...neither AMD or INtel have been able to say that for little over 5 years...

For high end gaming as long as you have a good gpu CPU mostly doesn't matter.

For ultra high end gaming, you need ultra high end graphics sub system, but CPU is anyways secondary over there.
