All in all it doesn't quite stack to an Athlon. On a clock for clock basis it isn't far off but it does carry a much heftier price tag.

I'm dying to see what happens when some O/C addicts get hold of one of these.

If (the Tualatin) could be used as say as an upgrade from slower Celeron/Coppermine chip, it would be a steal.

Fact is the starting price of roughly $294 US and extra for a new motherboard doesn't make (this proc) highly desirable with upgraders of older Celeron/Coppermine systems.

The price is definitely there for a P3 upgrade. That's not saying much unfortunately b/c of Amd-based procs (of similar clk'd speeds)are priced more-reasonably.

I'd pick up one of these if I could use one. Early reports said something about still being compatible with BX boards, which appears to not be true. As it is im gonna wait a while before spending any more money on my PC.
