good mortars, this is basically how "real" fireworks are done. Charge to expel the payload and then the pop to break open the shell. Repeaters are the same way, but they are pre-loaded.
You generally get what you pay for. Talk to the guys at the fireworks shop, they know what is good. Just be carefule and never shoot a mortar/repeater if it isn't secured or on concrete.
It's never fun to have the crowd ducking from for their lives because a cake/repeater has turned over and firing rith into the crowd. Be careful and be prepared (water, secure the firework, etc) Don't light the big guys on grass unless you firmly secure it with bricks.
