I'm looking for an enclosure, but I'd like both the Oxford 911 chipset, and I'd really like it to get power w/o an adapter. What can you guys rec., and are there any good deals going on for said case?

TIA, Graham

I don't know of any that will power the HD with out an adapter. The only think close would be Firewire, and I only think its possible, since apple managed to get the ipod to be able to recharge over the power it supplies.

You can find drive encolsures for 2.5" (laptop) drives that are bus (USB or Firewire) powered but not 3.5" ones.

Yes, there's a 3.5" case out there like that. It can only power off the firewire port and very picky on hard drive but most of the newer hdd models will be fine. The bad part is that it cost $160 for just the case..
