nothing. Supposedly this card is to be plug-and-play, but windows did not recognize the card. My first impression was a bad card, so I tried in various slots; didn't work. I then placed the card in another computer and bingo; the card works. That leaves me with the OS or the MOBO. I attempted looking up drivers for XP, but for some reason 1394 drivers aren't installed on this computer??? The motherboard is an ASRock Socket A board with an AXP 2800+. I have another firewire card I'm going to attempt, but if there is anything else someone could mention I would be most appreciative.

Cheers,

Which Firewire chip does your card have (NEC, VIA or that third one I forgot the name of)? Are both computers WinXP? Does the card have a fitting for a floppy-drive-type power plug and if so, did you plug a cable into that?

The chip is NEC and yes both computers are XP. No, there is no floppy-drive-type power plug on the card.
