FireWire PCI Card Question

I have a 3 port fire wire PCI card, it also has one firewire port on the BACK (inside the case) part of the card!? It came with my motherboard, if I install it on a different motherboard will it still work?

Also, in the same bag there is a black/white (2 prong female/female) cable... I'm not sure if this came with it or not, but I'm assuming it will work if I just plug it (the card) alone in to a PCI slot.

The internal port is just to allow you to connect a front-mounted port on your case if you have one, I assume. It should work on any motherboard. No idea what the cable would be. What kind of motherboard is it? I've never heard of a board coming with a PCI card of any kind.
