Would like this capability with my new rig I'll be getting soon...is it simply a matter of buying a firewire PCI card, such as Belkin's with 3 FW ports, to have the capability to use FW peripherals ? And also to use the Apple Ipod mp3 player on the PC platform with that software coming out soon... Another option is to get the new SB "Audigy" sound card with the FW port?

just be aware that 2W is the max that that firewire connector will supply to your peripheral if it's not externally powered.
