Firewire MiniDVI Capture shutting down pc

i am using Ulead dvd disc creator and am having random hard shut downs on caputre, etc.

I am thinking it is memory or firewire card...have a pci firewire card from zzf in there.

the memory is somewhat generic and am thinking it is the problem. the event log does not show much....

anyone have same kind of problem with this board being picky about memory?
