I don't know if anyone else has this device or not, but I am having an issue with it which may or may not be firewire itself. The card works really well for both recording and playing music with low latency. Quality is top notch, and its very well built. I followed the instructions perfectly to get this working, and I am using the firewire 6-6 pin bus power, though the ac adapter is plugged in to. I have tried various combinations with 4-6 pin, 6-6 bus on, power only on the 4 pin etc. The problem is that when I begin to play an audio source, no matter wether its comming from a recording program, or media player, quicktime, or a cd playing. The front knobs, main audio, headphone, power knob, and a/b selector knob become useless. Audio does come out of the front headphone knob, but thats it. While this is happening, the card is still working fine. The audio plays, and it all works great. Its just that no input can be made from the front of the device. Now the interesting thing here is that when I 'stop', press the stop button on media player for example, and then start the media again by pressing play, or open and play a new media, the control's for the front become 'active' again. They will work for a period of time, then stop. All indication of output audio on the control panel (green bars) will slowly fade to nothing, and it will appear as though no output is being sent. But the card continues to play the audio.
This is totally bizzare and I hope someone might be able to shed some light on the issue. I just bought this yesterday, so if it is a problem with it, I can return it. Thanks alot for the help.
