Firewire doesn't work on Audigy2 card?!, plus ...

I installed the drivers from the CD (for the Audigy2) and my bud's JVC camera doesn't want to work with the Firewire on the Audigy2 card!! :disgust: But if he buys any separate Firewire card and installs it in his XP Home SP1 machine it works fine????!?! WTH is up with that? Has anyone experienced this problem b4? I feel bad c'os I told him to get the Audigy2 card because it has firewire and he only needs the one port.! Doh!😕
I'm going to his house here after 11pm EST tonight.... to troubleshoot that and his fairly new Creative TV Tuner card that constantly fills up his HD with whatever he is watching. Not sure why it is recording (if it is)?!?! Does it record when just watching a TV show on his PC? Or is there a setting to change that?!
Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Check whether the firewire/IEEE1394 controller is even showing up in Device Manager. Otherwise, check Creative's support site to start with.

Yes, it is listed in Device Manager as an OHIC compliant (or something like that - can't remember from last night) Sorry.
I'll take a look at Creative's Website ... thanks.
