Firewire card killing my pc?

I have a MSI KT4 Ultra with a XP 2200+ and everytime I try to boot my computer with my Belkin F5U503 Rev.S-1 the diagnostic LEDs show 4 reds, meaning I have a dead processor. If I shut down the pc, remove the FireWire card, the pc boots up just fine and works normally.

The machine worked fine for a few weeks after I first installed the FireWire card and it myseriously stopped booting. I bought a new processor as a result.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I brought the card to work to test it in another machine. I'll make another post with the results of that.

I've tried 2 different power supplies and I've moved it around the PCI slots.

I just connected it to my Dell at work and it kills my Dell too. It turns on, but I get a dead screen.

Are you using the correct drivers for the card?

If the problem follows the card (assuming correct drivers in all test systems), you have a bad card.

What good are drivers going to do when my machine is trying to POST? :p

The machine is my dad's and I had chosen this card because it is on Apple's compatability list for the iPOD. I had tried a no-name card prior and it would no recognize the iPOD.

Well the obvious answer is to throw it out but I was hoping that anyone had experienced the same problem or might have some insight into the problem. I'm just curious what could be causing this behavior.

Thanks for all the responses.
