firewire card chipsets for digital transfer ???

Between the via, TI, and the nec firewire chipsets is one much, if any better than the others for transferring from a digital camera to a computer? I am looking at a via based firewire card that has beter software with it than the nec card has. Any reason not to go with the via card?
 
A while back there was a thread regarding Firewire cards where the consensus was that the TI chipset was the best. Not sure if that's still the case now though... FWIW, I have a TI chipset Firewire card to transfer my MiniDV movies to CDR and it works great.
