Firewire Cable - iBook G4 -> MBP

That looks right. I think that the earliest MacBook Pros (so between 2006 and 2007?) only had firewire 400 (6 pin), but if it is newer than that, then you should be good to go.

However, if the iBook is not booting at all, then you will not be able to use target disk mode. If it is just not booting the OS, then you should be ok.

If it isn't booting at all then you are opening that sucker up. Go with god, good luck, and bring extra men, you might lose some in the process.
