Firewire 800 for external harddrive enclosures

So I need an external harddrive to backup everything from my Powerbook, and I think I am getting this harddrive unless any of you have a better suggestion.

For the enclosure I want a USB 2.0/ Firewire combo, but I'm not sure if I should just get Firewire 400 or 800. I think I have also narrowed the enclosure down to the Macally's because the look to be pretty sturdy. Ok:

Choice 1

Choice 2

edit:
Choice 3 I have to admit, this one is nice. A bottom mounted fan, the Oxford 911 chipset, and an on/off switch (which the Macally lacks 🙁)

What kind of speed increases would I be looking at going from the 400 to the 800? Like I said, this is for backup mainly and because I am running out of room, so going for the 800 would be just for the "coolness" factor. 😛
