Firewire 800 card, need recommendations...

Just because I've read mixed reviews on some cards I'd thought I'd ask you guys since you've always given me sound advice. I recently bought the Lexar Firewire 800 compact card reader and a Fireware PCI card. But stupid me was in a hurry and didn't realize the card I got didn't have the 9 pin 800 Firewire Port in it. So now I need another card for this machine. I've read some reviews about not having driver issues, but they were mostly Vista computers. Plus just some all around mixed reviews on the cards in general.

So any recommendations on cards you all like and have used? I don't have 64 bit slots on this mobo either.

I suppose I could get a 800 to 400 adapter. I would need one to make it work on my laptop, but I wouldn't be using that combination all that often anyway.

Thanks as always!

could i recommend stepping away from fw800 ad move towards esata? I used to work off my drives at fw800 and fw400 and the move to esata was very noticeable. I still use fw400 when i need to work on my laptop but this is rare (like a month out of the year)
