anyone using a firewire 1394 cardbus pcmcia card with a laptop? any recommendations? i'm looking for one for use with my iPod and Inspiron 600m.

I use one IBM 1394 card bought from Compgeeks several months ago. I beleive the price then was $29 or something. No complaint, good.

a while back I got a really cheap dual-port SIIG firewire card. It's worked great for what I use it for (synching up my Ipod)

I bought the Maxtor Firewire Cardbus for $40. You can find it at www.outpost.com. It look very good and neat. I like to have the dongle than the big extended part (which require you to remove the card before put the laptop into a bag). With the dongle, you can just take the dongle out and take it with you.

thanks everyone. i looked for the sig and at compgeeks but found nothing for $29. i ended up ordering the maxtor one from ebuyer.com for $36.60. hope it works. was cheaper than outpost. i miss outpost's free overnight shipping.
