firewall

hey it's JZ here.

i was wondering if you knew how to take off a firewall. well more specifically how to open the port 1662 or something very similar to that port.

i try to play starcraft with Casey(friend) but can not b/c i think my firewall is in the way. it says 'game creator has latency too high. cannot join.' i am in a fix right now. it is summer and i want to play a game with a friend, but can't. suckith muuuuuuiy.

i have a wireless router i run off of downstairs(wirelessly) and it has a built in firewall. it is a 2.4Gz D-link router and i have a compatable PCI card in my upstairs room that picks up the signal. i am thinking the router may be where i need to change something around. those are my thoughts...what do you think?

if you could help me out i would be indebted to you. thx a ton.

you need to forward the port to your computer. That can be done according to your router manufacturer's instructions.
Here is a list of other ports, should you use any of these games or programs.
Ports list.

By the way, u dont have a firewall, u have a router. What u want to do is called Port Forwarding. The technology your router is using is called NAT.
