Sup People,
I'm currently connected to a university's network, t3 connection i believe. When running AIM and trying to transfer files between my roommate and I, it says that we cannot because of some firewall between us. I called it in to the network administrator and they said that the school doesn't provide firewall service, so it shouldn't be their fault. My question is, what kind of settings on my computer might be causing this problem?? i've got a linksys ethernet card w/ a telephone networking thing. Any suggestions on how to alter my settings that may fix this?? - Thanks in advance.

I'm running a personal firewall, Network Ice , Black Ice Defender. However, I was running it before and at that time it was possible for me to transfer files. Besides, I did uninstall it to test and see if it was the problem, but the same error occured, so i reinstalled it again a few days later.
-- What i meant by the telephone networking thing, ... I don't know how else to describe it. The ethernet card has two telephone jacks plus the rj-45 port. The two telephone jacks used to network home computers via a common telephone cord.
