So I have windows xp w/ sp2, and I had sygate personal and everything was fine. I decided to try Outpost firewall because i had heard very good things about it. I disabled Sygate running at startup, but I did not uninstall it. I then installed outpost firewall. I rebooted, and now my computer responsiveness is VERY slow. everything is perfectly fine until Outpost loads up. It loads up with a screen warning me that Sygate is installed and it may create conflicts. Then the CPU jumps to 100 (used by the process called System) and moving the mouse or clicking takes forever to respond. What can I do? I have tried opening the control panel to uninstall Outpost, but it takes forever, and it can't even open folders. I have about 3-4 seconds btween the time windows finishes loading and outpost loads up, but I can't do anything in that time. help, please!
cliffs:
1. had sygate, installed outpost
2. after install & reboot outpost pops up with possible conflict warning screen (just a default one)
3. everything ridiculously slow, "System" takes up 100% CPU
4. can't do anything or even open up any programs or folders
5. want to somehow uninstall or disable outpost...
