I went in to the brand new firehouse subs around the corner this afternoon to try it out.
What a friggen mistake that was.
The line was about 6-7 people, not too bad, but the girl at the cash register was more interested in talking to the employees than taking peoples orders. When i stepped up to place my order, she was involved in a heated discussion about her boyfriend or something, who knows. Anyway, every time she almost turned to me to take my order, she would look back at the other associates and start talking again. By the 4th time she did this i was starting to get a little ticked. Anyway, i finally placed my order, got my drink, and sat down at a table in the middle of the restaurant. Three minutes after sitting alone at the table i realized i was no longer alone, but smack dab in the middle of what i can only describe as a feeding frenzy of flies. No kidding, there were at least 15 or so flies on my table (4 top) and another 10-15 each on the tables around me. After waiting for 15 minutes for my sub, i walked up to the counter and asked to have mine as take out instead. I had errands to run and didnt feel like eating with flies, but i left those kind words out of my request. Yelling down the counter at the other associates making subs, she let them know that mine was now for take out. I sit back down again with my new fly friends and another 10 minutes pass. Finally i hear my name being called that my sub is done, not bad, only 30 minutes for a 7" piece of bread with meat on it. I walk up and see a lovely basket with my sandwich on it, not a takeout bag. When i politely ask for a takeout bag to take my sandwich in, the guy who made my sub gets all pissy, snatches it back and starts complaining to the other employees how no one told him it was take out. Now they all get into the discussion, each of them explaining how they heard the change, why didnt he? Arghh, 5 minutes later my name is called again and i can finally leave.
All in all the sandwich was pretty good, but my GOD, i will never go back to that craphole again... Im sticking to publix subs...
