Firefox won't work in 64-bit windows

The only time when Firefox is working for me in 64-bit windows is right after a fresh install. After I reboot, firefox no longer connects to the network.

Tiny Firewall doesn't even show it attempting to make network connections.

Other programs (like IE ugh) are accessing the internet fine.

Looks like its an application bitness issue -- the 32-bit version of IE won't connect either while the 64-bit version of IE does.

I would like to know about this as well. I'm about to take the plunge into 64-bit Windows but cannot live without my FireFox 🙁

works after re-install and reboot.

Must be a conflict with other software that I normally install right after Windows. Prime suspects are WinPCap (for Ethereal) and Tiny Firewall. The firewall I doubt because it is a 64-bit native version.

nForce unified drivers, which include new network drivers have been installed already so I confirmed it's not those.

Edit: confirmed - Tiny Firewall does NOT cause the problem.

Pretty sure its WinPCap now. Uninstalling it before did NOT fix it however.

Does this have anything to do with IPv6? I think Firefox has some issues with IPv6 and DNS lookups on Mac, maybe it has similar issues on WinXP 64bit?
