Firefox vs. IE in a certain sort of way....

IE users: If MS were to take the open-source Firefox code, change the name and logos to the ones for IE (while making no other changes), compile it, and put it up on windows update as IE7, would you install it?

I don't beleive this is within the realm of possibility.

Of course it's not. It's an inverstigation of whether people see IE as a better browser because of functionality or because of endorsment from MS.

It's probably better because most are too lazy to install and use something else.

I like to use whatever most people use. Thus I have no problems at anytime whatsoever. I don't care who endorses it, I'll use it if it'll give me the least trouble. So yes I'll switch at any time to any browser - if the rest of the world does.
