Firefox version 0.8 v 0.9 v 1.0

Its seems to me the newest version of firefox 1.0 is slower at startup than it used to be.
And it seems i remember a option in it to stay running all the time, even after closing, that is now gone.

Anyone using it feel the same way? Seems it lost its control over blocking ads and flash. Or am I just dealing with a new version absent of all the plugins my old one had?

So far im HATeING the lated firefox. Just a jump to 'gamespot' is KILLING my me. A content heavy page like it supposed to load slow, but IE loads it faster for me than the New firefox.

....:Just a rant, Just a rave:.... what's on your mind?

Agreed, it's frustrating. The big 1.0 release tends to eat up all memory and CPU on my XP machine, and if I have more thn one tab loaded and leave the browser inactive for awhile it ends up pegging the CPU and crippling my computer. I love Firefox but I have been using IE lately for this reason.

Quicklaunch was removed because 1. it's not well-written, and 2. it hides load time issues - the devs thought that by removing themselves, they could force themselves to speed up the launch. The lack of quicklaunch is one of the things that keeps me on Mozilla.

Firefox 0.9 and 1.0 aren't all that different - they're both based on the mozilla 1.7 engine, so overall performance should be nearly identical.

You probably had the Adblock extension before? It's easy enough to get it again for Firefox 1.0.
