Firefox using C: drive space for downloading

I set my computer up so that the C: drive is used exclusively for Windows. The drive only has about 2 gigs of space left. Last night I tried to download a 3 gig file to my H: drive. Much to my surprise, at the 60% mark I got a warning that the C: drive had run out of space. I could see the .part file in the H: drive directory, but somehow C: drive space was being used as well. I have my Firefox disk cache set to save on H: drive as well. I completely stumped as to why it seems like disk space in two places is being used.

Unfortunately, Google is not really helpful because searching for "C drive" isn't going to work. I spent a good two or three hours Googling around trying to find an answer but to no avail. Does anyone have an idea what is going on?

Is Firefox set to H drive in the settings?

Is there tmp folder on C drive?

Is there a on-access virus scanner creating a tmp file on C drive?

Grab a copy of filemon and see what FF has open.

Likely page file, have you moved it to another drive as well?

No, not at all. The pagefile doesn't get used unless memory is low and the pagefile doesn't grow unless it's almost full.

We have a winner, thank you. Kaspersky was creating a temp file. I turned off the virus scanner while doing the download and it worked fine.
