I was fiddling around with my extensions, and wanted to go to the homepage of one of them. I right clicked the extension, selected "About," and clicked the link. Oddly, it neither opened a new tab nor a new window like it normally does.
Instead, it opened a window without it being represented in the Windows' task bar. When I restored the tab, it was clear that there was neither a tab or window to represent it; it was just there. But when I minimized it, it became a little window in the Firefox window, most like programs with an MDI interface. Whenever a link of this kind is opened, I cannot click anywhere else in Firefox except in the link itself. The problem goes away when the link is closed. This is represented in the following screen captures:
Clicking link
Link opened
Tab restored; no window or tab to represent it
Minimized, it appears like it would in an MDI interface
The Aardvark extension is not the only one with this issue. Fasterfox does the same.
It seems to be that this only happens when the link is not distinguished by highlighting as normal, but appears to be regular text. Also, when I right click the extension and click "Visit Home Page" it opens a link in a new tab like normal.
