I recently started having a problem with firefox. I use the middle mouse button to open a link in a new tab. Recently when I do this it opens two tabs of what I middle clicked. Anyone know why? It doesn't do it always. Is my mouse button malfunctioning? Am I possibly double clicking so fast I don't know it? Is it a firefox setting?

If your middle mouse button works properly in other places, you can (worst case) uninstall firefox and delete your profile (search google or the forums for how to do that).

It does it in Opera too, I just tried it and the first time I middle clicked, it opened 2 cloned tabs.

It's probably your mouse. My Intellimouse Optical is starting to die and does things like this occasionally.

In that case, it's probably the mouse.

You wouldn't believe how often people go through the torture of reformatting just for stupid things like this.
