Firefox sucking for Videos

It seems like Firefox has always had troubles playing in-browser videos. Compatibility issues i guess. I've tried the "Open this page in IE" and "IE Tab" extensions in the past, and they always screw up firefox and it freezes and errors out so everything I was doing is gone. It's annoying. FF is my browser of choice, so I'm not going to switch to something else.

I get the same problem sometimes too
fortunately, the major sites like youtube and video google are OK for me, but every once in a while, some random video site will shut down FF, and I won't even get the "Send Error Report" box.

edit: an embedded Flash video has yet to crash my FF though 😉

interesting... no problems trying to open anything at break.com on my end. I'm running FF2.0 and have been carting around the same profile for a while 😵). i must be lucky as hell or something.

i wonder how much of people's FF woes come from an abundance of extensions... i don't run very many.

I used to have a ton of problems with this, and in at least my case, I went and updated all my extensions and that seemed to fix it.

That might help?

no issues with 1.5 or 2.0, of course i have extensions out the a$$....grease monkey, adblock plus, flashblock, media connectivity, RIP, nuke anything, gmail manager, etc.. i have had issues with some themes however crashing windows, but the default/most popular ones work fine

If you loaded FF 2.0 from scratch, you will get issues with the latest Flash plug-in. It is a major issue with Linux distros.
I have problems so I reinstalled 1.5. No issues.
