Firefox shows all saved passwords in plain view?

I just found this out.. I always thought Firefox encrypted or made some effort to hide saved passwords, however if you goto Tools/Options/Passwords/View Saved Passwords, you can see all of them and the corresponding usernames!

I couldn't find anyway to do this in IE... Is there a way to make it encrypt saved passwords?
