Hey everyone. I have always used IE for as long as i can remember. I decided to use FireFox for the first time a few days back. It turns out I am not really to impressed by it, although it is very secure and nicely done.

Anyhow....

After unistalling it, I always like to clean everything out. because i have no "other"browser experience, i was wondering, can i delete the registry.dat file within my .../application data/mozilla folder??

I know this little file causes problems with NETSCAPE. I dont plan to ever use netscape, but like anyone else, I'd rather not leave garbage files on my computer.

Can i safely delete all the leftover Mozilla folders, including the registry.dat and pluginreg.dat files?

Any information on what these files really are would be great so i could delete files like this in the future. Although i can assemble computers, im pretty much brain dead when it comes to software and sensitive files, and windows promted me to be sure i wanted to delete this "system file".

So can i delete it? Thanks guys.
 
LoL. I know it sounds funny, its really not for the space, its just I just did a clean format recently, and this would be the first trash to begin to build up on my squeaky clean hard drive, i guess i'm digitally-anal. lol. Anyway, thanks, I will go ahead and get rid of it!
 
I like Firefox, but I have to agree with MonkeyWrench on this one.
Why doesn't Firefox clean up after itself when uninstalled?

Especially when some of those files can wreak havoc on upgrade installs.
This used to cause a number of issues back when the beta's were coming our regularly.
It's at best an annoyance.
 
Would it be less of an annoyance if you uninstalled Thunderbird before installing the new version because you didn't want to upgrade and it removed your profile with all of your mail in it?
